The Burton Pinnacle Gore-Tex XCR Over and Under Snowboard Glove Review
A perfect 1 glove Solution- The pinnacle XCR glove has been around for ever and people all seem to be rather pleased in most reviews we read. We also wore these gloves for a season and really liked them. There is a good feel to them and they do mold to your hand over time. It has ok water proofing (approx 10k) but most gloves in this price range have more waterprofing. The Gloves have inserts for colder days and on there own deal with cool to moderately warm days. They go up the wrist enough to block out snow on powder days and also have a wrist noose to help keep snow out. They also have leashes so you won't have to take the chair line down to find them. The nose wipe is great but the goggle wipe is not that good. It's not rubber like most and pretty much sucks.
We at the good ride are in the minority but we really like rubber palms over leather. Nikwax and leather palms are also not fun to deal with. It sucks to constantly rub on nikwax but it does help waterproof the palms. That being said the leather is thin so it doesn't absorb allot of water like some do. It will be adequate on wet snow and spring days. It can dry pretty quick in a warm room. It also has a pocket for hand warmers. If you want only one glove for almost any condition then spend a little more money on these gloves and deal with the wax/leather crap. You will be pleased with the result. If you aren't Burton's customer service is pretty good.
