Pow Assault Glove Review

assault glove
$85
The POW Tormenta and the Pow Assault are some of the best one glove solutions in the around $100 category.  It has a removable liner, goggle wipe and nose wipe to help you deal with almost any type of weather.  It is also built very well for its price.  It has just enough leather to make the glove fit well and enough water proofing (20K) to be bomb proof.  The 2012 Pow Assault added Gore-Tex to their glove and a bit to the price tag but it's worth the extra waterproofing.  The other thing we like about POW is they have a lining that doesn't stick to wet fingers like almost every other glove does.  They aren't made like Hestra and aren't going to last for years but they do last as long as most of their competitors.  We'd like to see the glove length increase and this in a dedicated under glove but we aint mad at em.

The Good Ride Take

The Good Ride Take on POW Gloves
We feel that POW is really on top of their game right now and makes some of the best gloves in the industry at a very fair price.   POW is still small and well managed and that we feel is one of the reasons they are doing so well.  From what we can tell there are 3 things that make their gloves better than the rest.
1.  Their very smooth lining that allows your hands to get in and out of no matter how wet.
2.  Their exceptional waterproofing.  Their high end gloves have an insert called Hipora that is comparable to Gore-Tex and offers 20K waterproofing/breathability.
3.  They make gloves that fit well and last a long time.
If you are looking for gloves then go over the POW line and find what works for you.   You won’t be disappointed and will save money.

The Good Ride's Take on Leather- Leather is very comfortable,  very resistant to cuts when you grab a  rail and very form fitting.  The biggest issue we have with leather is how wet it can get.  Now with so many good water proof inserts that have up to 25K waterproofing it will not soak all the way through if you buy the high end gloves.  Once soaked they don't dry as fast as other materials out there.  So If you ride in dry weather and have little interaction with the snow you will enjoy the positives of owning a leather glove.    If you live in wet weather then you might want to consider other materials or try to keep the leather to a minimum.
