Smith Venue Snowboarding Helmet Review

Not as cool as the Smith Variant but close
Almost everything Smith does they do it well. This is a good looking, well vented and well designed helmet. It has some of the better venting and fits very well. The Smith Venue is a great alternative to the R.E.D Hi-Fi and Giro G9. This is mainly because the Smith Venue helps vent your goggles as well. The Venue has been worn by one of our riders now for almost a year. There are almost no complaints. The Helmet is light, and a great mid priced helmet for the 30-50 day a year rider. If you want something more low profile you will have to pay for it with the Smith Vantage and Variant but this is on par with your average mid level helmet. Smith also is the pioneer of the goggle venting system that many companies are now imitating. Out of all the venting systems we have seen Smith is still hands down the best.

Great mid price helmet

For the price I would almost give this helmet a 5. However, I rode with my cousins Smith Variant recently and I now see why you pay more for the extra tech. Back to the Venue though, this helmet is great. Its fairly light and very comfortable. to open the vents you just have to take out the velcro skull cap thing and take out the foam insert that blocks the vents. the skull cap is very easy to get back in and then you just stick the insert in a pocket. it sounds like work but it literally takes 20 seconds. It has the goggle vents which really help too. My only complaint about this helmet is that it is a little big but not huge. If you are tired of renting stinky heavy helmets then this would be a great choice for someone who gets out maybe 15 or more days a year.
