Continuous Rocker Twin Shape

2012 Good Wood Award Winner
The Lib Tech Box Scratcher in a lot of ways is the evolution of the MC Kink BTX. The MC Kink is a small but wide board made for the Jib Park and so is the Box Scratcher. The small size still has a lot of contact with the snow and the BTX is pretty flat as far as continuous rocker goes. Despite it's jib focused design it will hold an edge in almost any situation and be OK in other parts of the park like jumps and the Half pipe if the edges are sharp.  The Lib Tech Box Scratcher will feel a little squirly when riding in harder conditions but it's not as bad as BTX use to be.  You get use to it after a while and if you are on edge all the time you won't notice it much.  Many people instantly fall in love with this and some still prefer a hybrid or mostly flat camber board for the jib park.  It's up to you to decide but we strongly suggest you try it if you can.  Out of all the rocker boards Lib Tech and Gnu (same company) are really pushing snowboard technology to the next level and keeping snowboarding fun.  The Box Scratcher is a great board for the jib park rider who wants a little more that just pure jibbing.

The Good Ride Take

A Quick look at the 2012 Lib Tech Burtner Box Scratcher

The Good Ride Take on Continuous Rocker
This is where it all started or re-started in the Mid 2000’s. In the beginning Continuous Rocker was mainly for park and powder. Today it's still pretty much made for the same 2 functions. There are a few boards that are made for all mountain to freeride use but most of those have migrated to hybrid shapes.  Continuous Rocker helps you maintain a catch free forgiving ride which is excellent for beginner riders or those who ride at slower playful speeds through the park.  Almost every one we have tried has to be on edge or it will wander giving you that squirrely feeling like a skateboard with loose trucks.  The biggest issue is it isn't very stable flat basing or one footing in firmer snow.  Continuous rocker is for the most part really poppy and helps you generate your own air.  There are many styles of this shape so this could be a good choice for beginners, park rats and people who only ride powder.

Burtner Box Scratcher Series

Jesse's All Mountain Jib Sticks!

good wood

Jesse Burtner is an all mountain workhorse beast of a jibber. Jesse wanted an all terrain jib board that he could hit sidecountry jumps with, and still get his daily requirement of 38 jib tricks taken care of on. A short banana with Magne-Traction for people with full sized feet. Jesse, Sean and Pika run Think Thank and they are really good at making things simple, efficient, creative and extremely complicated. Jesse’s board is a thinking man’s jib stick that will get you out of any trouble your mind injects you into, with the style necessary to make the shot a keeper. Big Brain, Huge Balls, Short Banana!
