The Good Ride TakeThese gloves have a moderate amount of leather on the front and back with burton's dryride material strategically placed on the back of the hands and between the fingers. These gloves are made to clutch. The Good Ride's Take on Leather- Leather is very comfortable, very resistant to cuts when you grab a rail and very form fitting. The biggest issue we have with leather is how wet it can get. Now with so many good water proof inserts that have up to 25K waterproofing it will not soak all the way through if you buy the high end gloves. Most leather gloves don't dry as fast as other materials out there so that is something else to consider. So If you ride in dry weather and have little interaction with the snow you might like a leather glove. If you live in wet weather then you might want to consider other materials or try to keep the leather to a minimum. Company InfoNo matter where your hands end up, if you’re wearing the Burton [ak] Clutch glove rest assured it will be a happy place. Ruggedly weatherproof, it triples the performance by combining the abrasion-resistance of DRYRIDE Ultrashell™ and Gnar Guard genuine leather with the Guaranteed To Keep You Dry™ GORE-TEX® waterproof/breathable insert. The midweight warmth and super duper dexterity make these a no-brainer when sledding, splitboarding, shoveling, or performing any stunt that requires fancy finger-work.Featured

Just returned my 2nd set under warranty

I am usually very easy on all my gear and have never had a problem with anything failing. Gloves, pants, jackets, etc. always seem to last me years and years until I choose to replace them or pass them on to friends. I have already been through 2 pairs of of the Burton AK Clutch glove. On the first set, the wrist teather that is stitched into the cuff began to fray within 5-6 days of use. I had them replaced under warranty and was trying to be extra careful with the new set, but on the third day the wrist teather ripped completely out of the cuff. Rather than return them for such an obvious but small flaw I had the teaher sewn back in the cuff and reinforced on both gloves. The seamstress (my mother in law) showed me just how little material they use in the seams to allow the pieces to be held together. Sure enough after about 5 more days of use I look down to see that the glove had split open where the inner thumb meets the palm. Completely unacceptable considering how easy I was on these gloves and how few days of use they saw. I sent them back again and took my $85 in credit back to put towards a glove that will last. The only reason I gave them 2 stars instead of 1 was the fact that Burton was very accomodating in working with the vendor to replace the gloves with no hassle, and they really seemed like nice gloves had they not began to fall apart in short order. |
