The Good Ride TakeWe are not a big fan of leather due to the fact that they can get spongy but we have to admit they handle steel edges much better than rubber. This glove did not get s&m crazy with the leather. Just a moderatly thin layer of leather on the palm side that drys reletavely quick if you get it soaked on a wet day. The rest is 2 layer dryride fabric with a goretex insert. Almost every glove is one layer or doesn't advertise that they have 2 layers so this is a big plus on the water proofing side. We wish the fit was as good as the waterproofing and this glove would be perfect. On putting these gloves on we found 2 issues: 1. The entry point for the wrist is very tight and takes alot to get your hand in or out. Once you are in the fit is very good but in order to fit into the gloves you need to buy a size or 2 bigger than what you would normally buy. 2. We also noticed that the gloves lining is all ready coming out a little when we pull our hands out. This could be due to the mostly small fit issues. So the problem you face with these gloves if you have average size hands is do you buy a larger size and have easy wrist entry or do you buy the right size and have better finger dexterity? We'd probably do neither and go with buying another pair. So the bottom line is if you are willing to sacrafice a little dexterity and ease of entry for a lot more water profing then these aren't a bad choice. Especially if you can find them on sale. The Good Ride's Take on Leather- Leather is very comfortable, very resistant to cuts when you grab a rail and very form fitting. The biggest issue we have with leather is how wet it can get. Now with so many good water proof inserts that have up to or more than 20K waterproofing it will not soak all the way through to your hands if you buy the high end gloves. Once leather is soaked it doesn’t dry as fast as other materials out there. So if you ride in dry weather and have little interaction with the snow you will enjoy the positives of owning a leather glove. If you live in wet weather then you might want to consider other materials or try to keep the leather to a minimum.
