Pow Mega Glove Review

mega glove

A Good Ride Favorite!
A thick warm glove at a good price.  Great waterproofing at a good price.  We at the good ride are big fans of almost all their gloves and this is no exception.  We love rubber palms and feel its the best way to keep water out. We like the touch of leather in different places as well.  These gloves served a full season and are ready for this season.  We loved these gloves for moderate to cold days when it wasn't snowing too hard.  Not that it wasn't waterproof in any situation but when it was dumping we liked to have a glove with goggle wipes.  It wasn't the best for serious cold but we found it to do well down to about 10 degrees fahrenheit.    Check out the detailed review below.

The Good Ride Take

POW MEGA SNOWBOARD GLOVE REVIEW BY THE GOOD RIDE

Pow makes great gloves at a very fair price.  After spending most of the winter trying Dakine and Burton gloves we can't tell you how stoked we are to wear the Mega Glove.   It has that $100 Glove feel at a $60 price.    So you know we love these gloves but let's go through the details of it all.

Our first impression is the glove is well built and looks good.  When trying them on at first you notice it's very smooth inside.  You also notice that they run small.  Two of the riders at the Good Ride are right in between size medium or large.  We ordered medium and it was soo tight we had to exchange them for Large.  The large fits a little funny on your pinky and ring finger at first but after a few wears the problem dissapears.  The liner gloves that it comes wtih fit very well and add extra warmth on the very cold days.

One complaint worth mentioning is how short the Pow Mega comes up on the wrist.  Most gloves go about 1/2 to 1 1/2 inches more up the wrist.   If you want more wrist coverage check out the POW Tanto.   Another small complaint is we wish these gloves had a goggle wipe but they do have nose wipes on each glove so we can't complain too much.  If they had both they would be a perfect one glove solution.  Goggle wipes that work are essential on a powder day and especially on a wet powder day.

The best part about these gloves we feel is the really smooth inner lining.  The editor accidentally spilled water into the gloves and when most gloves with microflece linings get wet its very difficult to get your hands in and out of them without screwing up the lining.  These gloves were incredibly easy to get in and out of no matter how wet the hands are.  Another thing is even with the cold water in the glove the hand stayed warm and after a few runs the water warmed up and evaporated out.  Another thing that is great about the gloves is the 20K waterproofing and breathability.  So many companies don't even rate their gloves.  They must be embarrased or just don't care.  It isn't a laminant but an insert called Hipora.   It's not goretex but who cares with 20K waterproofing.    We also really like that they have hand leashes so a glove won't go falling off the chair when you reach for your phone.

It has similar insulation, possibly better waterproofing, more rubber, liner gloves and a better price than the Dakine Cobra.  Give POW a shot and you won't be dissapointed.  We feel right now POW is making the best gloves in the industry.

The Good Ride Take on POW Gloves
The Good Ride’s Favorite Glove Company!

We feel that POW is really on top of their game right now and makes some of the best gloves in the industry at a very fair price.   POW is still small and well managed and that we feel is one of the reasons they are doing so well.  From what we can tell there are 3 things that make their gloves better than the rest.
1.  Their very smooth lining that allows your hands to get in and out of no matter how wet.
2.  Their exceptional waterproofing.  Their high end gloves have an insert called Hipora that is comparable to Gore-Tex and offers 20K waterproofing/breathability.
3.  They make gloves that fit well and last a long time.
If you are looking for gloves then go over the POW line and find what works for you.   You won’t be disappointed and will save money.
