Thirty Two Alpha 3L Jacket Review

It's very rare to find a 3Layer jacket with 30K waterproofing at this price point. We are currently in the process of reviewing this jacket and as we get more days on the hill with this we will have more detailed info. So far this is how we rate the jacket. The Good Ride Take

For a jacket of this price and waterproofing we are expecting some issues since most comparable jackets are in the $400 + range. However so far we haven't experienced any major issues so far. The jacket is very minimalist like any shell. It has 2 outer hand pockets, 1 small mp3 player pocket and one small to medium interior pocket. Some jackets have a little mesh that barely allows any venting and other jackets have none leaving the jacket to gape open on the sides. This jacket is a nice compromise between the 2 and has a little more mesh so the vents can open up and cool you off. Also if you leave the outer pockets open you get some venting that way as well. Another thing we like is a non propriatery link system from the powder skirt to the pants that has little buttoned loops that connect to belt loops on pants. Obviously it will work best with 32 pants but it should work with most other pants that have belt loops. It's not going to be as good as a Zippered set up but most people, including us, don't buy the same pants and jackets.
