The Good Ride TakeA Great One Pant Solution 686 sucks when it comes to describing their products so check out our review. To start off with these pants have a lot more than you would expect from their description. Their company description lacks even the detail of the pant. You would think they would spend a little more time differentiating between their pants and the rest. To start of with the fit is one of the best we have experienced. Its not that baggy and not too tight. It also has a nice taper in the knees and then expands again at the boots. Also the choice of 8 colors is more than enough to find a pant that works for you. If you don't want to look like a 90's gangsta and aren't into the tight wanabe punk rocker pants then here is the alternative. The 15k waterproofing works in all but the wetest of conditions. The breathability is pretty good at 10k....not great but pretty good. The one complaint we have about these pants is the pockets have too many steps to get in them. Almost everything has a flap, button, velcro and then a zipper. If they had the smooth look and the one zipper entry of the Ride Alki or 686 Plexus pants it might make them perfect. We'd like one simple waterproof zipper instead of all that crap. Also there is only one back pocket and no zipper. It is all velcro and buttons. Although it hasn't happened we could see a butt cheeck seperating crash in the pipe that could lead to a wallet left in the pipe as you ride away. Or a big ass skid and the pocket filling up with snow. You won't get pick pocketed though and their are many little mystery pockets that we keep finding. The pant has good venting and the best part is the fleece liner. It's thick and warm, zips in and that makes these some of the best pants for warm or cold days. With a good midweight 1st layer you will be very warm in almost any situation you will find at a north american resort. The pants also work in other pants or as something warm to wear around the house. Without the layer in the shell pants still have a little warmth via some micro fleece lining in the knees and butt. The boots also have a nice little Velcro BOA window so you can access your boots without having to completely pull up the pants. There are also little well thought out things all over the pants like velcro between the 2 fly buttons. All in all these are worth a little extra money to get all this design, good waterproofing, good fit and a zip out liner.
