Beginner to expert Freestyle Jib and Street
Continuous Rocker Twin
If you like Forum and want a beginner park board this isn't a bad choice for the price. The continuous rocker is good in many ways and bad in some.  It would be nice to see a little more edge hold with the mannual because beginner boards need more grip going from hit to hit. Forum makes boards that are softer than most other companies so when they say 3 out of 10 and when you flex this you will realize this is almost as soft as it can possibly get.  For the price it is hard to go terribly wrong with the Manual as long as you ride when conditions are good.  If you ride in resorts that get icy this could be a rough time. For 2012 the ride is still pretty much the same board as 2011.  All in all this is the kind of board that is good for a beginner that knows they are park bound and want consistency that rentals don't provide.  It can also work for advanced park riders that know they will trash their board and can't spend a grip of cash.

The Good Ride Take

A quick look at the 2012 Forum Manual

The Good Ride Take on Continuous Rocker
This is where it all started or re-started in the Mid 2000’s. In the beginning Continuous Rocker was mainly for park and powder. Today it's still pretty much made for the same 2 functions. There are a few boards that are made for all mountain to freeride use but most of those have migrated to hybrid shapes.  Continuous Rocker helps you maintain a catch free forgiving ride which is excellent for beginner riders or those who ride at slower playful speeds through the park.  Almost every one we have tried has to be on edge or it will wander giving you that squirrely feeling like a skateboard with loose trucks.  The biggest issue is it isn't very stable flat basing or one footing in firmer snow.  Continuous rocker is for the most part really poppy and helps you generate your own air.  There are many styles of this shape so this could be a good choice for beginners, park rats and people who only ride powder.

Don’t Read the Manual, Ride It
If your riding is split between park laps and street sessions, the Manual is here to join you. ChillyDog with Pop features the forgiving feel of rocker but has specific pop zones outside your feet and in the nose and tail, which make it a menace to park jumps, while the beveled edges come ready to hit up urban slabs. In any zone, this board will get you up when you need to get down.

ChillyDog with Pop

Playful, Precise and Poppy. Featuring all the stability, predictability, and forgiving feel of Continuous Rocker, but with special focused Pop zones just outside of your stance. The core profile is matched with poppy sections in the nose and tail, softer between the feet. Load up the increased surface area in the nose or tail for ridiculous ollie power when you need a little extra to get you up and over.

Forum Manual 2011

There is no “off-season.” The Manual is snappy, predictable, and forgiving for riders trying to join the 100-day club. ChillyDog with Pop adds just the right amount of flowy flavor and pop spice. A soft flex, tough construction, and beveled edges make the Manual the trusted choice for fun.

LIPS, JIBS, PRESSES AND BUTTERS.

$339.99

A jib stick for late night urban recons, this buttery ride is the team’s top pick for street sessions. The low swing weight makes it faster 270 on or off, while pre-ground edges reduce hang-ups on wood, metal or concrete and tough construction survives abuse from ledges, rails or tantrums. Big and bright name-drop graphics make sure a Forum allegiance shows up in the money shot.
