Advanced to Expert All Mountain
Triple Base Camber Twin Shape

Bataleon makes some weird but fun boards.  They don't follow the reverse camber world.  they make their boards look like spoons and call it triple base technology.  It makes for a very catch free edge and is allot of fun in the park.  This directional twin is a good park/mountain choice. The Jam is a very aggressive directional twin that is made for high speed.  It's not the best for the Jib park but you can haul ass regular or switch down the mountain.   There is also still a very forgiving ride because of the triple base hybrid camber shape.  The only thing is it performs like a camber snowboard in powder.  Some still like to work to stay afloat but most prefer some type of rocker in there.  For 2012 the Jam was re-designed a bit and the sizing was changed.  The effective edge was shortened and the sizing was increased to make the Jam a little more playful but still the same Jam as always.

ABOUT THE JAM

This is our most aggressive all mountain board, perfect for those riders that can't be bothered waiting up for family, friends and girlfriends but just want to point it down and go. The more aggressive you ride this board the more you will get out of it. Based on FREESTYLE TBT it's like adding power steering to your ride making the edge to edge faster than Darth Vader's light saber. Your weapon of choice when you want to take the whole mountain apart with precision and speed.

Bataleon Jam 2011 Company Info

This Board is the swiss army knife of snow- boards for aggressive riders. Stiff enough to point in through big mountain lines, stomp cliff drops and drop into 22 foot pipes. Yet responisve enough to hit the park. The patented FREESTYLE.TBT shape makes The Jam go rail to rail so fast it's like ADHD sword fighting. It pops so hard it's like stepping on firecrackers and when you are floating that big kicker line you will be happy it comes with enough camber to take any landing and make you stomp it like a man.

Bataleon Jam 2010 Company Info

You don't need to worry about this board getting the funnies when you point it down. The Jam is so responsive it's like having your finger on the trigger with the safety off. Just think it and it will happen. With this kind of Jedi mind/body/board connection you would be excused to think that the Force is strong in this one. Truth is: it's all about space age Triple Base Tech. Light years ahead of the pack with serious future board dynamics, combining the best of positive camber's responsiveness with the best of triple base concave shaped nose and tail.

Jam 2010

1 of 1 people found the following review helpful
This board gets a "5" because it is better than a rockered board on hardpack, and better than a cambered board in powder. Fantastic in crud. This is the ONLY quadrax glass board that I have ever ridden that I would describe as being playful. Unlike the rocker/hybrid camber-rocker boards, the Bataleon will reward a precision rider who knows when and how to set and release an edge. If you don't have any idea what I'm talking about here, don't worry about it, because the Bataleon is ALSO extremely beginner friendly. The unique shape of the board removes that "sticky spot" between heelside and toeside turns, making it an ideal choice for beginners to progress with. Problem is, you can't effectively market a "beginner friendly" board to advanced riders. The Jam is Bataleon's ripper board for the more advanced, or heavier rider. If you don't need a "ripper board", try their Goliath, Omni, or EvilTwin models which are a tad more forgiving, and a bit less expensive. This review is for the 2010 Jam, which I own; and also for the 2008(pink?) and 2009(yellow) Jam, which I have ridden over the years. I believe that these model years, along with the 2011, are all the same design. Looks like the 2012 got a longer tail and nose for that pow.

If you can only take one board, this is kind of an easy decision to make.
