Gnu Dirty Pillow BTX $499 Intermediate to Expert Freestyle Powder Board Continuous Rocker Twin Shape The Gnu Dirty Pillow is like a stiffer bigger version of the Lib Tech Skate Banana made for taking a freestyle approach to the mountain on a powder day. The sizes are larger than the Skate Banana but the Dirty Pillow still does a pretty good job in the park. You aren't going to have the easy all mountain ride that many of the C2 BTX boards have in the Gnu Line up but in the park or powder it's going to be pretty lively and fun. The Dirty Pillow will be excellent taking a freestyle centered stance approach to the mountain on moderate to deep snow. Obviously a twin with a centered stance will be more work than a set back tapered surfy style powder board but that is the price you pay for riding switch or regular in a powder day. The dirty pillow is just like every other board from the Gnu Line. It's well made, well thought out, and if this fits your riding style you will really like it.
The Good Ride Take on Continuous Rocker This is where it all started or re-started in the Mid 2000’s. In the beginning Continuous Rocker was mainly for park and powder. Today it's still pretty much made for the same 2 functions. There are a few boards that are made for all mountain to freeride use but most of those have migrated to hybrid shapes. Continuous Rocker helps you maintain a catch free forgiving ride which is excellent for beginner riders or those who ride at slower playful speeds through the park. Almost every one we have tried has to be on edge or it will wander giving you that squirrely feeling like a skateboard with loose trucks. The biggest issue is it isn't very stable flat basing or one footing in firmer snow. Continuous rocker is for the most part really poppy and helps you generate your own air. There are many styles of this shape so this could be a good choice for beginners, park rats and people who only ride powder.
The Dirty Pillow is a strange snowboard in a non-existent category of its own. Progressive Park Powder freestyle. This twin Banana mellow Magne-Traction design features long floaty tip and tail entry curves for high speed powder floatation in both directions, a short banana contact for unbelievable hard- pack, ice-edge grip and tight terrain maneuverability, line adjustment, with mid-wide waist widths and a clean, catchfree, smooth riding shape. Designed with new snow resort freestyle riding in mind. this banana rips the hardpack, park rails, cat tracks, ice, crud and everything that isn’t pow that you will come across on a typical resort “pow” day. The Dirty Pillow… a progressive park and parking lot rat’s all terrain pow freestyle board.

ABOUT THE ART
Photos by Tim Zimmerman, our Gnu staff photographer and Portlander. We branded the dirty pillow as a photgrapher’s series and we were so excited to work with Zims on this season’s graphic. These shots were from his many trips around the globe documenting gnu pros. Check out more of his work at Timzimmerman.com. Thanks Zims!
