Bataleon Riot Snowboard Review

RIOT_154_FLIP
Bataleon Riot $499
Advance to Expert All Mountain Freestlye
Triple Base Camber Twin Shape
The Bataleon Riot is a Cambered (actually tirple base) True Twin Freestyle with a centered stance that should be park specific but the Riot is much more of an all mountain freestyle board than you would think.  The flex is stiffer than Bataleons other park board like the Evil Twin.  Triple base is hard for some people to take on.  There are some boards with spoon noses but no one takes the entire length of the board and has a base that is spooned the whole way.  It makes for a more catch free ride...especially for a cambered board.  The Riot, like all triple base boards, will be loved by some and hated by others.    The Riot is a great aggressive freestyle snowboard that has a forgiving nature un-like many camber snowboard.  The only drawback with the Riot is it's performance in Powder.  It does rather well for a camber like snowboard but it's nothing to write home about. For 2012 the Riot has changed up the sizing and decreased the effective edge to make the board a little closer to a hybrid camber shape. It's still the same Riot and really a camber board.  Still we like the change in sizing which makes the 2012 the call over the 2011 or 2010.

Bataleon Riot 2010 Company Info

When you are ready to step it up the Riot is ready for you. It's a twin with something more under the hood for riders who like to hit the big jump lines with speed and confidence. This board gives so much stability you can take down anything with the mellow confidence of a zen master on prozac. Reason enough to make this one the team favorite when it gets serious. Enhanced with kevlar for crazy pop and positive camber lets you comfortably stomp huge airs even when it's scandinavian ice. The Triple Base nose and tail sections make jumping (and landing) switch a no brainer. This true twin is so tech, takin' it to the park is like bringing a light saber to a knife fight.
