$699 Advanced to Expert All Mountain to Freeride Flat Camber Dirctional Twin Shape The 0 has not been around for a while but is getting a good reputation for speed. It is incredibly light and for the price you pay you will expect it to ride very well. Good thing it does. The 0 is very similar in shape and performance to the Ride Concept UL and Salomon Special. They are all directional twins or almost directional twins and are incredibly fast. The 0 will not dissapoint and it's a nice directional twin alternative to the Custom X. The only real limitation with the 0 is the ability to hang in the jib park or really excell on a deep powder day. For 2011 the 0 is still super light and super fast. There have been some very minor improvements in the base and core but the big story is how the 0 went from Camber to flatline like the K2 Slayblade. We aren't 100% sold on flat camber but have to admit its very stable, fast and good in powder. Flat camber just doesn't seem to have much pop compared to a board that has camber, hybrid camber, rocker or hybrid rocker. That being said the K2 0 is still an amazing board.
The Good Ride Take on K2 K2 is a big company that makes a lot of ski and snowboard gear. K2 chose Flat Camber and variations of flat/rocker for their snowboards in the post camber revolution. Their flat camber has a mixed take but their flat/rocker shapes seem to be well liked and some are Good Ride Favorites. When it comes to Bindings K2 spends a lot of time working on the quick strap/release side of things and they have 2 quick release designs. Some like this but others would rather see them work on improved turn initiation, comfort and better board flex under foot. We’d at least like to see them switch to only one quick release and develop their normal bindings more. Their boots are well made, long lasting and comfortable but some don’t have the adjustability that some boots have. Their customer support is very good but there is no phone # on their site so you must contact them via email. All in all K2 does a pretty good job when it comes to making snowboard gear for a wide variety of riders.
