It's all about the width.

The 10/11 Pantera was my choice for a freeride/powder board with my daily being a custom x. The Pantera is going to be a great board but only for a very few people. The reason is the width. Both the mid-wide and wide will only apply to a narrow range of foot sizes. I chose the wide since all my other boards are wides and I wear an 11/12 size. Unfortunately I just don't have the leverage to get any kind of good turn initiation. When quick turning isn't needed the board performed excellent. Carving was superb, chop was handled with ease and the mild taper made for a great powder ride. The board is relatively light, fairly damp, and has good return energy. Nitro has really done the board a disservice with the width and so I can only give it three stars. If the sizing were right it would easily be in the 4-5 star range. |
