Intermediate to Expert Powder

Directional Tapered Continuous Rocker Shape
The 2011 and 2010 Mullet don't have many differences.  For 2011 the BTX shape has been slightly refined but that's about it.  Not many boards with rocker or tapered shapes can comfortably get you from the scetchy stuff at the top where the wind is blowing away the pow to the fun stuff you want to drop into. The Lib Tech Snow Mullet BTX can thanks to the magnetraction part of the BTX design. The Mullet makes things alot easier. This will not let you down if you ride when it isn't dumping.  This has the float and slashability of a fish with more of a regular board feel.  The Mullet also comes in many sizes.  When the powder is gone this board wont sketch you out.  You can even take this out on a hard pack day and have an ok time making modest turns. The rocker snow mullet doesn't have the carving ability that the old cambered versions had though and it washes out pretty easy. The Mullet also has a very fast base and if it wasn't for the rocker shape it would ride much faster.  The Mullet is an easy ride so it will work for just about anyone but most people will start to appreciate it after reaching the intermediate level.   Also the 156 and 160 are made for normal feet and the 165 and 172 are more for mid to wide feet.

The Good Ride Take

BTX is a different kind of ride and is even different than other rockered boards. The MTX in the center part of this board really changes the ride. It will hold an edge in almost any situation and also turn different than any type of board out there.  Many people instantly fall in love with this and some still prefer a traditional shaped board.  It's up to you to decide but we strongly suggest you try it if you can.  Out of all the rockered boards Gnu and Mervin (same company) are really pushing snowboard technology to the next level.

The Good Ride Take on Continuous Rocker
This is where it all started or re-started in the Mid 2000’s. In the beginning Continuous Rocker was mainly for park and powder. Today it's still pretty much made for the same 2 functions. There are a few boards that are made for all mountain to freeride use but most of those have migrated to hybrid shapes.  Continuous Rocker helps you maintain a catch free forgiving ride which is excellent for beginner riders or those who ride at slower playful speeds through the park.  Almost every one we have tried has to be on edge or it will wander giving you that squirrely feeling like a skateboard with loose trucks.  The biggest issue is it isn't very stable flat basing or one footing in firmer snow.  Continuous rocker is for the most part really poppy and helps you generate your own air.  There are many styles of this shape so this could be a good choice for beginners, park rats and people who only ride powder.
