2010 & 2011 Good Wood best in the park award winner. Forum is owned by Burton and now can piggy back some of their tech as well as work on their own.  Many times they are a red headed step child to Burton but this year they have 3 good wood award winners. The Youngblood Chili Dog is like a Forum Destroyer Chili Dog lite with a softer more park specific flex.   Unlike the Destroyer it's not going to perform very well out of the park or in the pipe but if buttering around the mountain is your thing the Youngblood Chili Dog is a pretty decent choice.  The Youngblood has all the same trappings and advantages as most continuous rocker boards do.  Not as much pop as camber, not great with serious carving but can make good turns and can be unstable at high speeds or when flat basing. On the other side it's a treat to jib with, performs much better in powder and is much more forgiving than a camber snowboard. In 2010 Forum made a lot of changes by going to the continuous rocker shape called Chilidog but for 2011 the ride is pretty much the same. There are just a few minor tweaks but nothing worth mentioning.  Forum does have a 1mm extension between the feet that is basically the same thing that Burton has with their "frostbite" edges.  It helps create more edge hold than a normal side cut but we'd like to see more of an extension that would allow for a good grip in all conditions . For 2012 the Youngblood Chilidog was passed up this year in the award scene by it's new brother the Youngblood Double Dog.  The Chilidog version is still fun but the Double Dog has a more ballanced ride.

The Good Ride Take on Continuous Rocker
This is where it all started or re-started in the Mid 2000’s. In the beginning Continuous Rocker was mainly for park and powder. Today it's still pretty much made for the same 2 functions. There are a few boards that are made for all mountain to freeride use but most of those have migrated to hybrid shapes.  Continuous Rocker helps you maintain a catch free forgiving ride which is excellent for beginner riders or those who ride at slower playful speeds through the park.  Almost every one we have tried has to be on edge or it will wander giving you that squirrely feeling like a skateboard with loose trucks.  The biggest issue is it isn't very stable flat basing or one footing in firmer snow.  Continuous rocker is for the most part really poppy and helps you generate your own air.  There are many styles of this shape so this could be a good choice for beginners, park rats and people who only ride powder.
