The Good Ride Take

When making your first turn you instantly fall in love with this board. It is fast, light, turns on a dime and makes riding in any condition easy. It makes you a better rider. It's obvious why this board won a good wood award. This board is incredibly light and responsive. It shows that you don't have to have rocker or other tech to make an incredible board.

When hitting the groomers it was easy to make slow, quick or carvy turns regular or switch. Its medium flex is slightly on the stiff side of medium. It holds well at speed and is fine for anything you need to do in the park. If you are on the mountain there are boards that will have more speed and stability but this is pretty dam good for a straight-line or two. On morning groomers this board handles very well. The edge hold is enough for hard pack and is going to be ok if you hit an icy patch or two. There was only one day we rode this in some fresh snow but it was only about 8" inches in new snow. That being said the board handled very well. It makes us think you could have allot of fun with this board even though it's a more park friendly twin when it gets deeper. We were able to ride this on hard pack, firm and a slushy/rainy day. Even on the slushy day that kind of sucked this board was still playful and easy to turn. It seemed to work through the thick chopped up groomers better than any other board we rode last year. Compared to some reverse cambered boards the edge is pretty catchy but if you compare it to most cambered boards it is pretty catch free. This did very well climbing the pipe walls so if you spend a lot of time in the pipe you will be pretty happy. There are definitely better boards for rails and boxes but this does just fine if this is not your #1 thing to do. This is the kid of board you can ride from 8am to 4pm and have just as much fun on the last run as you would on the first.

The Good Ride Take on DC Snow
DC has been making boots forever and has a very unique take on the snowboard boot world.  DC has a very soft forward flex compared to many other boots out there.  It makes the boot more comfortable and has a good following in the park.  It is a good bet to choose their boots that have been around for a while because sometimes new boots from DC can disappoint. They have recently entered the snowboard making business and have a few Good Wood Awards.   They have a small line of mostly well made freestyle snowboards that have some original tech but mainly just stick with other designs that have worked in the past.  Most of their boards are freestyle focused but a few have an all mountain feel.   DC also has clothing but we can’t speak that much about it. The DC customer service is good but not in the realm of Burton.  They can handle issues and repairs where some companies don’t even have a call center.   All in all DC is a solid choice for boots and could be a good choice for a freestyle focused snowboard.
